The Echo Sports ES2400 stadium seat​ is built to do exactly that, combining an HDPP (high-crystallinity polypropylene)​ compound with gas-assisted injection molding​ to engineer the seat from the inside out.

1.The material: HDPP

The ES2400 is moulded from HDPP — high-crystallinity / high-density polypropylene. Unlike general-purpose PP, HDPP has a far more regular molecular chain arrangement and a higher degree of crystallinity, which translates directly into the properties a stadium chair​ needs over a long service life:

For outdoor and high-exposure applications, the HDPP compound is further formulated with UV stabilisers, flame-retardant and colour-fastness additives, so the seat resists fading, chalking and embrittlement season after season. The material is non-toxic, odourless and recyclable.

2.The Technology: gas-assisted injection molding

One of the key advantages of gas-assisted injection molding is the ability to create an optimized internal structure.

Instead of relying entirely on solid plastic sections, gas channels can be incorporated into thicker areas of the molded part. Combined with carefully designed ribs and structural elements, this allows engineers to develop a seat structure that balances rigidity, weight and material efficiency.

For stadium seating, this provides greater flexibility when designing large, curved and ergonomic components.

With its 450 mm width, the ES2400 suits standard centre-to-centre spacing; at 810 mm high​ it is a genuine high-back seat that gives spectators proper shoulder and lumbar support; and at 575 mm deep​ it fits comfortably on typical grandstand steps without eating into legroom.
